Amtrak
June 22, 2007
This is a warning for every consumer who purchases a ticket off Amtrak's website and then expects to have to option to cancel and get a refund. The website was designed so that you can't cancel the ticket. You have to call a customer service rep. The rep will tell you they will process the refund but neglect to offer to send you an e-mail confirming that you cancelled the ticket. Ask for the refund confirmation sent to your e-mail. Amtrak places a hold on the funds with your bank or credit card and does not complete the... read full review »

I contacted them by email and they responded that my account was into redemption and that the sales department was going to contact me. Which they did, by phone , the same day. CompUSA TAP Program
June 22, 2007
COMPUSA Store #793 604 Ala Moana Boulevard Honolulu, HI 96813. On July 9, 2005 I purchased an HP Lance Armstrong laptop computer for my daughter attending law school at the University of Hawaii. The salesman suggested I purchase the 3 year TAP program for an additional $369.99, which I did at the time. On August 7, 2005 the laptop failed and it was replaced by COMPUSA with another same laptop. When I picked up the laptop I specifically asked if this will be a problem with the TAP program because it is a different serial number. The repair... read full review »

Velas Vallarta
June 22, 2007
We attended a time share presentation at Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta Mexico in November 2006. We were very impressed with the property and because of the deal that our sales man was able to secure, we purchased the timeshare and left Mexico very happy. A few days after our return the nightmare began. The fraudulent sales tactics and horrific treatment that we have since endured has tarnished our view of Velas Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico as a whole. The facts about our “investment” were overstated, embellished... read full review »

B & G Plumbing, Wilmington, NC
June 22, 2007
I called this plumber to ask if they could do a "small job" for me. It was the Monday of Memorial Day weekend. They sent someone over without telling me that they would charge three times their normal rate. It was an unimportant ten-minute job and they charged me $250! (Their rate for that day was time-and-a-half with a two hour minimum.) Had they told me, I would never have had them over. Four phone calls to the boss were not returned (despite promises from his wife that he would do so). I finally reached him, told him that the charge... read full review »

Recently we ordered breakfast at Burger King at 7133 Dempster in Niles, Illinois or the corner of Harlem and Dempster. To our surpris, the mexican-woman there charged us $1.19 plus tax on an orange juice that's part of the dollar-breakfast-menus. When we complained and asked for the manager, the manager told us it only says on the advertised-menu that those breakfast items "starts at one dollar" but they're not actually the dollar items!
