We ordered an AMEX gift card and received confirmation on November 24th. When 10 business days were up I called the following three days asking where the card was. Was told all three times it was still on it's way and to wait an additional day. Finally on the 11th an agent admitted they didn't know where the card was and would have to reissue it. However it would now be another 5-6 days!! When I asked if there was a speedy way to receive it they said no. I went to Best Buy to do some Christmas shopping. When I got to the register I wrote a check for $222.60 I was declined when I asked why I was told that I did not have enough money to cover the check that they take it out right away. I agree with the aforementioned complaints and am just as irate. I tried calling 3 times today and their automatic message is that the phones are down until December 22, 2008. I also received a confirmation of cancellation and immediately followed the instructions and have USPS receipts validating date of return. I inquired about their weight loss products but did not order any. Each company has sent me monthly supplies that I did not order. My VISA card has been charged in August, September and October 2008 and I cannot get them to stop automatically charging my account. My bank said that they cannot stop the automatic payments even if I close the account. The charges each month total $110.85 and must be stopped. I too have seen a steady rise of a supposed fixed rate 7.99% to a ridiculous rate of then 16.99% compared to my other one with Capital One. I got this credit card via the phone, I used it once and when I got the first statement it was over the limit and I called and they said that those are all fees that were applied.
