I have tried to stop the debit payment going of my bank account. Have reported it as fraud, but bank say because I gave them my details originally it is not fraud. Bank state they cannot stop it because it is not set up as a Direct Debit! How can I stop many other people here in the UK also being scammed in this way? Yes, I am too a victim of this scam. They said that I only had to pay the s/h costs. No further obligations. I have to say that this company is one of the worst consumer friendly businesses out there. I bought a water softner from a Rain Soft dealer who setup the financing through American Finco. I got my first bill stating please pay be Jan 11th. I first look online to see if I can pay them this way. I logged on to my account from an overseas location and Blizzard disabled my account because they said it was suspicious for account sharing. I received a phone call from choice motels and signed up for a 60 day trail period. It was to cost 1. I called and cancelled before trail period was up. Choice Motels told me that everything was cancelled and because I was in my 60 days there would be no charges. I just came back from the bank and a a group called TLG Advantage had took 119. out of my account. After calling them, they said that I signed up for it through choice motels. This was a lie. I purchased a 2009 antivirus protection on december 4th 2008 because my computer slowed down and I kept getting pop ups saying my computer was in danger of a virus. I paid 49.99 and registered. I thought nothing of it until i got my credit card statement a month later and i saw a charge for 49.83 and a 1.49 foreign transaction fee for cure-soft shop moscow russia.
