Amcom is a poor example of online shopping. I ordered a motherboard and CPU from them. After 1 1/2 months of listening to excuses for not shipping my order I canceled the order. To this day they have not refunded my money; one excuse was they changed the company that handles their finances, and would mail me a check. Since then they have contunued to lie about sending the check. I have refered this matter to my bank as well as the Hayward City Attorney. This company is supposed to provide internet, cable, phones and alarm services to communities in bundled package using 'state of the art technology"to our community in Fort Myers. I ordered one SCSI CD-R drive which was bundled with the Adaptec CD-Creator software and the wire to connect the CD-R drive to the sound card. What I received was a CD-R drive made by a different manufacturer than what I ordered that didn't even work (was completely dead - would not respond to connected power in any way), no CD-Creator software, and a wire that didn't even mate up to their own CD-R drive. Money was taken from my account without my being aware this would happen. I was told on the website that I would be charged a one time fee of $1.99 for a CD that would help me get a grant. After talking with the customer service person who seemed to have no information for me other than I have been charged $58.61 after a seven day trial and $13.42 for an SBA news letter I never recieved in my email, which I had no Idea I was to recieve. After weeks of research, I finally ordered a ProStar 5604 laptop through AmazingLaptops.com. I've only had the laptop for a couple of weeks, but so far the machine is excellent, with all the bells and whistles I'll need for several years to come. Terrible customer service. Purchased a piece of luggage. Charged same day but received about a week later. Didn't use it for about 3 weeks because I wasn't traveling but when I did travel I realized the luggage was terrible constructed and/or defective. The wheels make the entire rolling mechanism useless. Called Altman but they told me I was outside the 30 day return policy and they refused to do anything -- repair, replace, or refund. Here's a followup to my post I made on 6 Sep. On 7 Sep, Alphanex agreed via email to credit my account $56, but did not do so. I contacted my credit card company to resolve this. They said I had to wait 30 days from the date that Alphanex said they would credit the account before they could take action. So, I waited with no credit for $56 hitting my account. This company placed a $29.99 charge on my Credit card without my knowledge. I had never heard of them previously. When I called, they explained that they don't sell a product, just fitness advice. They claimed that the charge was originated by Adipose.com - another company I had never heard of - only a web site per My Fitness. I ordered BitDefender last week and got the online version. Turned out I had the Virus "Antivirus 2010" on my computer. They had me send them much info from my computer, but never sent me the fix as they said they were going to "in the next 30 minutes" -- that was five days ago. They charge you $998 to list your property. As soon as it hits their website there will be a bid for the following amounts ( $ 4, 500, $ 5, 000 or $ 6, 000) depending on your asked for sales amount. I could guess the amount even before I looked at the bid page. No way did they get a bid that large within an hour or two of the listing. I have had my Chase Visa Credit card since 1995. As they say, do the math: 2009 - 1995 = 14 years. On my January 2009 Chase Credit Card Statement I observed that my minimum payment amount was increased from $85.00 to $235.00 per month even though I have been paying $250.00 per month. I bought the above mentioned item and have never used it. It is a portable power source (charger) which is to be kept in a 'charged state' to be used in case of emergency. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE UNIT DOES NOT HOLD A CHARGE, THEREBY RENDERING IT A$100.00 DOOR STOP.
