I had lost my purebreed Chocolate Lab on name, February 24th, 2011 which is a Thrusday. I had been calling the papers and WLEN and also the Lenewee County Humane Society to put in lost ads for my dog. I had called the Humane Society that weekend and left my name number and full detailed description of my dog. Rudy is a two-year-old Chocolate Lab with green/ yellow eyes, slim and a small bald spot on the tip of his tail. He was found on U.S. 223 on the 24th. I had been trying to find my dog for two weeks. I had just recently called again on Friday the 12th of March and left, yet again another message with a description, but without a number. During the weekend I recieved a call from animal control in Techumseh stating that there was an ad on their website for a found Chocolate Lab, fully grown wearing a silver choker. To follow up I called the animal shelter again on Monday March 14th, 2011 leaving another message that I had seen the found add. Finally today on March 15th, 2011, my mother recieved a phone call from the shelter saying they had adopted my dog out on Saturday March 13th, 2011. They ''found'' our number in the phone book to let us know they had nutered and adopted out my breeding dog. The Humane Society did NOT call, or find our number in the paper before this, why? They claimed I had in fact, not left my number and they were hoping we would call back on another business day. Also stated was that I will not get my dog back because he was adopted out already. I am going into the Humane Society tomorrow during business hours with Rudy's papers and registration. I am going to fight for my dog and if things do not work out tomorrow I believe I have the right to take them to court.
